A Comical Approach To Archery Bow Hunting
Today, I want to show you guys a very entertaining article that I found at basecamplegends.com. Tom Sorenson, the article of this specific article really put a smile on my face while I read his column!
He talks about the five things that all hunters should know. He doesn’t mention any of the technical stuff that goes into hunting, so dont worry… its not a boring read!
Here is one of the things that he says that us hunters should know:
“Hunt with a bow. This was an easy one. his way you can always blame the wind – always. Someone asks you why you didn’t get anything, you can answer, “Well, you see, I was bow hunting and the wind was just swirling like crazy. I just couldn’t close the distance.” This does several things – first it impresses everyone that you’re accomplished enough to try to pursue game with a bow, and it gives an automatic excuse. Anyone who has hunted with a bow knows that if the wind is wrong, it doesn’t matter how good of a hunter you are – the game is up.”
I thought that you would get a kick out of that one! How many times have you blamed the wind for missing your shot? If you say that you have never done this, then you have probably always hunted in the perfect conditions!
I gave you one of his bits of advice, but I think you will enjoy the other four points that he mentions! You can read the rest of the article by checking out the link right below!

New Bill Lowers The Archery Bow Hunting Safety Zone
According to dailyrecord.com, there is a bill in New Jersey that will lower the safety zone for archery bow hunting from 450 feet to 150 feet.
Bill A-595 is a revision to the original bill 595 that says that no hunter can shoot his bow within 450 feet of a structure unless they have permission from the owner of that structure. This revision of the bill has been introduced because law makers believe that archery bow hunting is much safer than hunting with a rifle!
The problem with the bill right now is that animal protection activists are trying to sway the people of New Jersey to vote the bill down, citing that lowering the safety zone to only 150 feet will endanger more animals and humans. However, The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, and the National Safety Counsel say that archery bow hunting is one of the safest sports that we can participate in.
Personally, I dont live in New Jersey, but I really hope this bill is passed! Maybe New Jersey will set the path for other states to follow. If you read this, and you are in New Jersey, dont let those animal activists sway your vote! Lowering the safety zone will not put any more animals in danger, simply because archery bow hunters are known to be some of the safest, well trained hunters out there!

Is It Fair To Use A Cross Bow During Archery Hunting Season?
Well, the archery hunting equipment argument continues! For years, hardcore archery hunters have been against allowing the much more accurate crossbow hunters to hunt during their seasons. Now, The Pennsylvania Game Commission may decide to make the choice for them!
According to the Daily Item, The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seriously considering legalizing the use of crossbows during archery season!
Some hunters believe that this decision by the PGC does not have the hunter in mind. Instead, they are trying to create a bigger profit for the equipment manufacturers.
Also, the feeling amongst the Archery Hunting communality is that bow hunting, compared to crossbow hunting is a skill that takes a lot of work and practice. They believe that is unfair to allow crossbows into their seasons, because they are much more accurate and take a lot less skill.
